EverUs Adventures · Matheran Monsoon Escape
A vehicle-free hill station 90 km from Mumbai. Misty trails, reverse waterfalls, heritage toy trains, and a full-day jungle trek. The monsoon like you've never felt it.
Trip Overview
Asia's smallest hill station. No motor vehicles. Red muddy trails. Misty viewpoints. A heritage toy train through the forest. Two days that feel like a reset.
The Destination
Located just 90 km from Mumbai and 120 km from Pune, Matheran is one of Asia's smallest and most enchanting hill stations. During the monsoon, the entire hill transforms — waterfalls appear, mist fills the trails, and the jungle turns vivid.
One will walk around 15–20 minutes through dense woods and red muddy trails to reach any viewpoint. No motor vehicles anywhere in Matheran — pure, quiet, and refreshing, the way nature intended.
"A hill station where time stands still, the forest breathes, and every trail tells a story written in red mud and monsoon rain."

The Journey
From the overnight train to misty trails, a full-day jungle trek, and a heritage railway farewell — every chapter of your Matheran journey.
Board the overnight train from your nearest departure city — Ahmedabad, Vadodara, or Surat — as per your package choice. Settle into your berth (Sleeper class as booked), relax, and let the journey to Mumbai begin. This is your night to rest — Day 01 starts early.
Pickup from Bandra, Mumbai begins the following dawn — be rested and ready.
Arrive in Mumbai at dawn — pickup from Bandra. Meet your EverUs trip captains, introductions happen, and the drive to Matheran begins. Enjoy a freshly arranged breakfast on the way before arriving at the resort by late morning.
Check in, freshen up, and lunch at the resort. The forest air already feels different from the city. Free time at the resort — explore the property, swimming pool, or rest before the evening circuit begins.
Set out on the famous Matheran Sightseeing Circuit: Eco Point, Charlotte Lake, Edward Point, Cecil Point, and the extraordinary Reverse Waterfall (water flows upward in heavy monsoon winds). Stroll through Matheran Market — local handicrafts, keepsakes, and 19th-century hill-station charm. Return to the resort for dinner, music, and the first evening of new connections.
Wake up to the sounds of the jungle. An early breakfast fuels what will be the highlight of your entire Matheran experience. Set out for the Garbett Plateau Trek or Peb Fort Trek — a full-day adventure of 5–7 hours through dense monsoon forest, misty ridgelines, and stunning viewpoints.
Peb Fort (Vikatgad), standing at 2,181 ft, offers 360° panoramic views of the surrounding hills and Ulhas Valley — utterly breathtaking in monsoon fog. Return to the resort for a well-earned late lunch.
Evening comes alive with dinner, music, Garba, and group activities — the kind of night that becomes a lifelong memory. Optional: Night Trek to a nearby viewpoint under the monsoon sky.
Morning breakfast and checkout from the resort. Pack your bags, exchange contacts, and prepare for the journey back. Free time in the morning — take one last walk through Matheran's misty lanes, visit your favourite viewpoint, or experience the Heritage Toy Train (3 km ride through the forest — at own cost, not included in package).
Walk to the Matheran parking area with your group — the last walk through the red-mud forest trails. Depart by road and drop to Mumbai by evening. Board your return overnight train home.
